Marrakech is Morocco's leading city when it comes to hosting all types of events. It has the access and infrastructure to meet international standards. From purpose built convention centres to a wide range of hotels and resorts, many with comprehensive meeting facilities; beautiful restaurants and a range of distinctive venues. Its location is stunning with a mix of oasis and mountain scenery. This is a city that offers an unusually high level of flexibility.
Marrakech works wonderfully well on a number of levels when it comes to incentive programmes. It is visually stunning and this helps in terms of promotional campaigns as it has that motivational appeal which is so important in pre event communications. It also works well as a two centre option combining either the new and unspoilt Mazagan region on the Atlantic coast.
Marrakech has a wide range of accommodation options ranging from beautiful riads to the legendary La Mamounia; international resort hotels, including the recently opened deluxe Four Seasons with more to follow such as the Taj Palace later in 2011. You can choose to be located in the Medina, the residential areas, surrounding palm groves or in the nearby majestic High Atlas Mountains.
Programmes are designed around creating extraordinary experiences which leave lasting fond memories. The compact nature of the city means that transfer times are minimal and for those keen to focus on sustainable events and low carbon footprints, then these are very much part of our own approach to programme planning.
Marrakech is well resourced to handle meeting complexities from small to large. There is sufficient bed stock to manage very large international conferences and conventions. Access is either direct into Marrakech or via Casablanca which can be easily reached by road, rail or air.
The infrastructure of the city from medical to security; communications to transport and locally sourced AV equipment; creates the strong foundation from which to stage a wide range of events. The nearby High Atlas mountain scenery is ideal for ride and drive programmes. The reliable climate allows for many exclusive outdoor events to be staged in oasis locations during much of the year, whilst some of the smaller hotels are ideal for events which need to be in a "closed" environment.
Fez, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is the oldest of Morocco's four imperial cities, and dates back to 789 and has been a centre of learning and religious leadership throughout the ages. The city is almost completely surrounded by low hills covered with olive groves and orchards. It has its own airport with direct flights from Europe as well as good connections via Casablanca, giving you two centre options. This is a city for incentives and high end small meetings and forums.
Fez is a hidden gem and therefore suits incentive groups that are well travelled or are looking for something different and engaging. The secret with Fez is found in the wonderful range of accommodation from the luxurious palace hotels to stylish and distinctive Riads and impressive boutique hotels that offer a personal service ethos that makes every guest feel very special.
This is a city that works well for clients seeking a "hidden retreat" in which to meet and network. As the city is compact it means that social programmes are within walking distance in many cases which gives a sense of intimacy with the people and its distinctive culture.
This is a city steeped in history and its graceful architecture creates a unique backdrop in which to stage an event whether it is a recognition or
awards ceremony or a discreet product or
Casablanca offers a real contrast to the events buyer. Casablanca is Morocco's commercial capital and one of Africa's largest ports. It is the main gateway into the country and also a regular stop for cruise ship itineraries. This is a city that works well if you need a business environment in which to stage your event.
Casablanca offers a range of purpose built convention, exhibition and hotel meeting space. It suits those events which require a straightforward business location and good access to Europe and the USA.
The infrastructure of the city from medical to security; communications to transport and locally sourced AV equipment; creates the strong foundation from which to stage a wide range of events. Casablanca works well for those requiring a combination of exhibition and meeting space. It is also an ideal starting point for ride and drive programmes.
The Mazagan region on the Atlantic coast
South of Casablanca on the Atlantic coast is El Jadida (formerly Mazagan), and nearby is the Mazagan Beach Resort, one of the most exciting developments in Morocco which opened in October 2009.
The region has much to offer both the incentive and meeting buyer and Exclusively Morocco has spent two years in developing ground programme options which makes this a location well worth considering.
Access is by road being only 84 Kms from Casablanca's international airport.
The Mazagan Beach Resort offers a real alternative for those seeking an authentic exotic experience within easy reach of Europe and the USA.
The surrounding region has much to offer in terms of charming locations, activities and cultural experiences to enhance the content of incentive and event programmes giving a real balance between the resort and the local environment. The resort can also be booked on an exclusive use basis too.
The Mazagan Beach Resort conference centre offers a wide range of meeting options from 1,300 theatre style to 1,100 for a banquet. There are a number of plenary and break out room options for smaller events. There is full technical support available onsite.
Mazagan provides a stunning backdrop to events of all shapes and sizes from award ceremonies to product launches, press events to celebrations and by using the Mazagan Beach Resort as the base, it combines the best of both worlds.
GREAT SOUTH & DESERTS
The great south and its deserts offer a truly unique experience combining high mountain ranges, valleys, Kasbahs and desert scenery and locations. Ouarzazate is the gateway to the Sahara and has also been the site of many Hollywood movies. From there it is the grandeur of the Sahara Desert with the spectacular Erg Lihoudi and Erg Chebbi, a mixture of veritable sand mountains surrounding hidden oases and groves of date palms.
For those seeking the ultimate experience then your own exclusive en-suite desert camp set up between the hollows of the Saharan sand dunes offers a unique setting. This is an area which is sculptured daily by gentle winds, where the availability of water, pasture for the camels and firmness of the ground determines your camp location. It is ideal for those who have sustainability at the heart of their thinking.
It also works well as either a two centre programme with Marrakech and/or Ouarzazate in particular or as a top achievers pre post main event programme.
This is not an obvious choice for a meeting venue but it would certainly work for those seeking a high end and small "brainstorming session" without the distractions of a major city or resort.
It also works well as either a two centre programme with Marrakech in particular or as a top achievers pre post main event programme.
This is, in some ways, the ultimate event, whether it is an incentive programme, reward or recognition event.
